Failures in energy production machinery and hardware have become a key area of Materiex’s expertise. We have made investigations of failures in turbines driven by gas, steam, water and wind as well as in circuit breakers and power lines. For example, we have investigated more than 60 windmill gearbox failures, damages to the HVDC sea cables Swepol Link (Sweden-Poland) and FennoScan1 (Sweden-Finland) and of gas, steam and hydropower turbines.
